The Garo Food Festival was held at Meghalaya House Lawns, New Delhi on 26th September 2010. A pleasant afternoon saw Chief Minister Dr. Mukul M Sangma. He also sang melodious Garo oldies the crowd was amazed to his voice and requested him again he gain big applause from the people for his talent, John Manner Marak, MLA also attended the event. The visitors to the food festival included of people from the media, government, students, Chef from prominent restaurant etc., smacking their lips and licking their fingers. Due to unexpected turnout of visitors in huge numbers, the food portion of the festival had to be close earlier as the stock of food ran out. The event continued with the gigs, jukebox and Garo Indigenous games like Jakpong pe'a, An'ding oka and Wa'pong sika being organised.
Some items on the menu were Do'o ka'pa, Wak mea meseng, Wak laisak pura, Wak galda ginchi pura, Do'o masala, Do'bok Bijak, Do'bok bandal, Natok ka'pa, Bika ka'pa, Na'kam Chutney etc. It was quite a spread for those where as yet unfamiliar with the variety of Garo (A'chik) food available in their almost everyday cuisine.
The Delhi A'chik Youth Association (DAYA) and Delhi A'chik Association (DAA) finds it very prudent and rational to introduce the Garos (A'chiks) and their culture to the National Capital and we firmly believe that by organising this event it will bring together the diaspora of the state at Delhi.

Poaching refuses to die down in Kaziranga. Another one-horned rhino was shot dead in the famed Kaziranga National Park on. The carcass was spotted on Tuesday morning at Burhapahar. But the poachers failed to take away the horn.
Talking to assamtimes, officials said that there were reports of firing from the Burhapahar range where forces launched an operation against the poachers. Assam Human Rights Commission on Tuesday urged introduction of human rights in the syllabus of primary and secondary school and at the college level.
