Rotaractors paid tribute to the victims of 9/11 attack

9/11 - a day when a sad and a disheartening act of cowardliness by the terrorists shook the entire world, a day which still refresh our memory at the pity sights of those who lost that lives and also of those who lost there near and dear ones just at a blink of an eye, a day which witnessed almost everything, from discouragement to anger and from sorrow to humanity. It has been nine long years now but still we feel a sense of dismay when we remember that tragedy.

Thus, this year, the members of the Rotaract Club of Gauhati West, paid tribute for the peace of the eternal soul of the victims of 9/11 attack on New York. On 11th of September, 2010, at 6pm sharp, the members, small children form Don Bosco shelter home (Fancy bazar) and various other people from different corners of the city joined hands and took part in a candle-lighting ceremony at the American Baptist Church and maintain two minutes silence for the departed soul. This was the first time in Guwahati that such ceremony has taken place.
