After one and a half months of absence, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is back in Guwahati. Gogoi arrived in the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport on Friday afternoon where he was greeted by a huge crowd. According to information, he is scheduled to resume work in a day or two. Gogoi reached New Delhi where he met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi after being discharged from the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai where he underwent bypass surgery.
His cabinet colleagues were present at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport here as Gogoi's flight landed at around 2 pm. Welcome committees comprising Congress workers and cultural troupes lined the 20 km stretch from the airport to Gogoi's official residence atop a hill on the Assam-Meghalaya border.
