Mass Rally at Haflong

With the demands like, bifurcation of NC Hills district under the provision of 3(C) of Art. 244 (2) & 275(1) of the Sixth Schedule and speedy and impartial CBI enquiry into 1000 crore NC Hills Scam, the NC Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum, NC Hills Indigenous Women's Forum, NC Hills Indigenous Village Chiefs’ Forum took out a massive public Rally at Haflong on Thursday.


Several thousands of people of different communities other than the Dimasa holding play-cards etc. take out the procession starting from the NC Hills Autonomous Council march through the major parts of Haflong Township converge in front of Deputy Commissioner’s Office. They submit a memorandum to the Governor of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner, NC Hills. In the memorandum they have detailed the reasons for their demand f bifurcation of the district.
