100 hours NC Hills bandh

In demand for the bifurcation of NC Hills into two Autonomous districts under 3 (C) of Articles 244 (2) & 275 (1) of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India, the North Cachar Hills Indigenous Students Forum (NCHISF) has given a 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh from 4 AM of July 12.

The bringing of the bandh will not solve the problems of people like you and me. why do the people dont get in their mind of living in peace n harmony? The creation and division mind of the political leaders and the outfits will not do good for the common. you and i live in the land not only on individual. i pray for those who is still yet to understand the anger cloudy environment in the peace land of N.C.Hills.

Army Recovers Huge Cache of Explosive from Mahur

A joint team of 119 Inf Bn TA and Assam Police conducted an operation near Mahur late evening on 14 Oct 12 and recovered huge quantity of explosives from nearby forested area. Acting on a tip off about presence of explosives hidden near Mahur, a joint team of Army and Police launched a search operation in the forested areas near Mahur . Acting on tip off the troop of 9 Madras and Hatikahli police launched joint operation in which one Soan Khelma @ Hatikhali Dimasa of Dimasa National Liberation Force (DNLF) was apprehended on Friday from Hatikhali at about 7.30 am. Twin blast at Haflong

Twin blast at Haflong on Sunday with an interval of only 30 minutes rocked Haflong. First one was exploded near synod Gallery and Second one was exploded near Statefed godown in Sarkari bagan but no one was injured. Due to blast glass pane of the house of one H Kemprai were damaged. The police and security men rushed to the spot immediately after the incident. No organisation has claimed the responsibility till the filing of this report.
