New talks between NSCN (IM) and Centre resume tomorrow

In order to bring a stabililty to the north eastern part of the country a new round of talks will be held on June 1 between NSCN (IM) and the central peace-negotiator at Nagaland. According to report R.S. Pandey, the main peace-negotiator of the central government will meet NSCN (IM) leaders in Kohima besides officials from the central home ministry and intelligence agencies. Thuingalang Muivah, general secretary of NSCN (IM) will take part in the talks. It is expected that these talks would cover wide range of issues. Mentionable that this is for the first time talks are arranged in Nagaland since the peace accord signed on August, 1997 between NSCN (IM) and the Central government. From then fifty three rounds of talks were held between the said armed organisation and New Delhi to end up bloodshed in the region that took lives of more than 25000 people in the last six decades.
