Authorities on Thursday have issued a non bailable warrant against Gogoi. The action is coming up after the Dhemaji district administration lodged a complaint against him alleging his role in the recent incident in front of DC office premises. Scores were injured when police and CRPF jawans sprang upon a mammoth gathering but according to the FIR a section of the people led by Akhil Gogoi pelted stones at the security forces deployed there.

It's absurd. It is a plan of the ruling party to defame him and play with his stronger image which has been supported by the people in general. It is plan of those who want to continue the corrupt practices in administration.

We fail to understand why administration is against Akhil Gogoi. He is not doing anything which is against the government. The government is spending crores of rupees on the advertisement on NREGA, PDS, etc. Infact Mr.Gogoi is helping both the State and the Central government for successful implementation of the government programs.

This is ridiculous. I knew Akhilda while I was studying in Cotton College. I was in Class 11 and he was doing his BA English. Though he was our senior, he would always find a few minutes to talk to us whenever we crossed roads.He had inspired a lot of us to follow our dreams. Even at that time, at the age of 20, Akhilda used to be against violence of any sort. In 1995-96, he had led an agitation against the Cotton College administration demanding professors to be more regular in taking classes. There was not a single incident of violence or vandalism. Akhilda had led the agitation by going on a hunger strike. So, if they are saying that someone like Akhilda, who loves O. Henry and looks upto Gandhi, is a maoist, then they are implying that by default, every human being is a maoist. Now, that's ridiculous!!

Lakhimpur : A group of miscreants from Arunachal entered into Assam on Thursday morning and attacked the forest officals in the forest office at Dulumukh. 13 people were injured including 2 Assam Police personnel and 3 forest officials. Dibrugarh : A forest Ranger accidentally fell down in the Brahmaputra River from a Ferry on which he was traveling from Maijan Ghat, Dibrugarh to his workplace Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh today. Ferry started navigation at about 8 AM from Maijan Ghat carrying at least 100 odd passengers. After five-hour navigation when it was about to reach Kopling Chapori, Talukdar fell from the ferry accidentally. Heavy currents of the Brahmaputra river washed him away immediately. Kaziranga : Poaching has been continuing unabated in Kaziranga this year. The official numbers of Rhinos who have already been killed are around 9 but sources in Kaziranga dispute it and say it is actually 10. In this gloomy scenario, what is heartening is that local residents of the area have started acting against poachers. Local residents of Difalo Pathar Ahomgaon caught two suspected poachers, Prabhat Saikia and Tikindra Saikia on Tuesday evening at 9.30 pm. However Tikindra Saikia however managed to escape.
