IFFCO sponsored Training Organized at Nagaon

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaon organized in collaboration with Indian Farmers’ Fertilizer Cooperatives Limited (IFFCO) a training course on Crop Production and subsidiary occupations during March 12-13, 2010 at Shillongani, Nagaon for Krishak Mitras and Village Co-coordinators (farmers) of IFFCO villages of the state of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.


A brief inaugural ceremony on this occasion was also held where Dr. B.Barman, Chief Scientist, RARS, Shillongani graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He offered his thanks to IFFCO for organizing the programme at Shillongani and hoped that more such programmes would be held in future for the greater interest of the farming community. Mr. Dipankar Nandi, State Marketing Manager, IFFCO addressed the gathering as Guest of Honour. At the outset, on behalf of the organizers Dr. T. P. Saikia, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Nagaon welcome the participants. In his address, he said that KVK, Nagaon is always at the service of farmers through its various transfer of technology activities. KVK also provides inspiration, constructive and constant advice to the people to start new entrepreneurship for their livelihood and show them proper way when need actual help as the light house help the sailor in the sea. Earlier, Mr. Anuj Kataky of IFFCO explained the objectives of organizing the training programme.


The inaugural session was ended with vote of thanks by C K Deka of KVK followed by the training sessions where Drs. B.Barman, B.Guha, T.P.Saikia, H.Kalita, P.K.Das, B.Dutta, S.Pathak, S. Das and D.Nath delivered their valuable lectures as resource person on various aspects of Agriculture and allied subjects. The participants were also taken to the various Research farms units of KVK and RARS to apprise them about new technologies and techniques, who were guided by J. Dutta and C. K. Deka. In the valedictory function Dr. T.P.Saikia, Programme Coodinator, KVK distributed the certificates to the participants. At the end, Mr. Anuj Kataky extended his vote of thanks to the organizers, participating farmers, resource persons and the IFFCO field officers for making the programme a success.
