Bimala Roychoudhury selected for state level teachers' award

Bimala Roychoudhury, Assistant Teacher of No. 3 Dakshin Hati LP school has been selected for the state level teachers' award for this year. This award will be given on the 48th Teachers' Day on Sept 5 at the premises of Nagaon District Library. This awardee Bimala Roychoudhuy is not only a teacher, but she also dedicates her life to the world of Assamese literature. Her two books on poetry and a prose and various poems, articles etc also has been published in so many books and magazines time to time. She is also ornamented the post of honourable secy. of Barpeta Lekhika Samaroh Sammittee earlier.She also connected with the Xahiya xabha and other organizations. The situation in and around Bahari in Barpeta continues to remain tense for the consecutive four days even as a BJP called twelve hour Barpeta district bandh on Wednesday. Though the bandh was by and large peaceful, situation in Chenga in the district went almost out of control before noon and police had to fire several rounds of bullets and teargas shells in the air to disperse the bandh supporters.
