SA Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs Little Champs, the largest talent hunt cum reality show for children is back in a new Avtar on Zee TV and is marching towards its peak in TRP. The program is aired every Friday and Saturday from 9:30 PM.


Out of over 60,000 contestants all over the country, 6 girls and 6 boys have been selected for the final rounds of this competition.



Antara Nandy is one of the final 6 girl finalist in this show and is representing Assam. Antara is 10 years of age and her home town is Guwahati (Noonmati). She was born at the Pragati Hospital, Sivasagar district of Assam. She started her education at “Budding Buds School” at Tinsukia district of Assam and stayed at Bordoloi Nagar.


Antara’s vocal quality and versatility has attracted all the great judges of the show like Alka Yagnik, Abhijeet, Kailash Kher, Dipika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, Kavita Krishnamurty, Udit Narayan .


Antara has now qualified amongst the top 3 girls which is again a excellent achievement and now onwards it will be decided by public votes (SMS).


Antara’s potential for vocals was spotted at a very early age of 4 years by her school and immediately she started her training on vocals. At the age of 5 years she started her training under the guidance of Padmashree Ustaad Rashid Khan for advance levels


Antara is a student of Delhi Public School and is a bright student. DPS-Ruby Park has encouraged Antara throughout her journey. She also is a student of SIP – ABACUS.


Antara was launched as the youngest classical vocalist at the Prestigious Durbar Hall, Kolkata at the age of 8 years. Antara is also trained in classical’s under the guidance of renowned guru’s like Jayanta Sarkar and Samiran Jana and she obtained tips on modern songs from Simanta Sarkar (Jojo).


She has performed in various shows and is a sought after child artist amongst various section of music connoisseurs in the eastern part of the country. Her biggest shows were at Netaji Indoor stadium, Kolkata in 2008 and in Patna Stadium in 2009.


Antara decided to try her luck in the talent hunt organized by Star TV as well as ZEE TV this year and she got selected for both the programs, finally Antara opted to be go for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs 2009


Little Antara has already shown that she is not only a good singer but also has a good heart thru her act of friendship with the Marathi girl Ananya who did not have any friendz due to a critical skin problem (shedding of skin like a snake every day). This was also shown on the TV and was also a news in many leading national dailies. Antara’s parents also promised to support Ananya in her struggle.

I hope parents make their children realize that music is for the soul and not for competition. These glitzy 'talent hunt' are as fierce as the word 'hunt'. Children think music is meant for competition and competition only. Sad but True...

Hardcore ULFA man nabbed with grenade

Security forces apprehended a hardcore ULFA militant during a joint operation in Darrang district on Wednesday. A Chinese grenade has also been seized from his possession. M’laya stresses political consensus on border row

Meghalaya on Tuesday reiterated political consensus to settle the simmering interstater border row with Assam.Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said that the need was build a consensus among all political parties to solve the inter-state border dispute with Assam. He urged the agitating elected representatives and the individuals to re-strategise their approach as they put pressure on the government to solve the dispute. Centre not ready to release Daimary

The Centre on Tuesday virtually ruled out immediate release of Ranjan Daimary to expedite the peace process with NDFB. The message surfaced when a delegation of the Bodo National Conference delegation met home ministry joint secretary Shambhu Sigh in New Delhi demanding release of the NDFB chairman to expedite peace process. But the Centre denied immediate release of the leader saying that efforts are to break the logjam. Talking to reporters, the BNC spokesman Khampa Borgoyari said that the meeting with the home ministry official was very comprehensive and productive and they were hopeful for release of Daimary.

Gogoi launches scheme for women welfare

The Assam government on Tuesday launched an ambitious scheme which targets to achieve 16 goals for women and child welfare by 2016, including reducing the infant and maternal mortality rates, improving sex ratio and improving enrolment of the girl child in the state. Titled as 'Chief Minister's Vision for Women and Children: 2016, the document also seeks to provide 33 per cent reservation for women in all skill development programmes of the state government, besides curbing child labour and trafficking of women and children within next four years. Nalbari: Protestor dies of cardiac arrest

Sensational prevails in Nalbari following the death of a protestor when he was participating at a dharna in front of the municipality office here on Tuesday. The 47 year-old suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the civil hospital where he died. The incident took place when over 300 demonstrators had gathered to protest against failure of the district administration to take any steps to prevent the problem of water-logging in the town.

One killed, 8 injured in lightning

A child died and eight others have been seriously injured when lightning struck two villages in Kamrup (Rural) district on Tuesday. The incident took in the evening when thunderstorms and lightning struck Western and Eastern Hatigaon villages. The 12 year-old child was identified and the injured were admitted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital where their condition was stated to be critical.

Women in local bodies in Assam might have 50% reservation

The Assam government is in a move to increase reservation for women in local bodies to 50 per cent of the total seats. If it so happens, it would mark a rise from the current 33 per cent. According to Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Rockybul Hussain, the government is seriously considering 50 per cent reservation in seats to women in the panchayat and local municipal bodies. But he did not mention any timeframe for bringing a legislation to increase the number of reserved seats. Government data suggest that women candidates won 38.2 per cent seats in gram panchayats in Assam, 36.8 per cent in anchalik panchayats and 34.6 per cent in zilla parishads in the last polls held in...

AASU-AUS dharna in front of HPC mill

The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) and Asom Unnati Samaj activists staged a day-long dharna in front of Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited at Jagiroad on Tuesday demanding the repeal of the allotted lease of bamboo supply to a private individual. The protesters further demand cancellation of transfer order of the paper mill's Chief Executive P K Bhuyan.
