A free animal treatment cum vaccination and awareness camp under RKVY ( Rastriya Krishi Vikash Yojna ) was held at Amjuli village of Udalguri district on June 26.The camp was organized by the department of A H & Veterinary,Udalguri.The camp was inaugurated by Rihan Daimari,Minister,PHE, Assam.One minute condolence was observed before the inauguration as a mark of respect to late Assam Governor SC Mathur. Dr.Naram Kachari,DVO,Udalguri district,in his inaugural speech explained about the developmental schemes and projects undertaken in the district.He also emphasized on precautionary measures against dreaded diseases like Swine flu, Bird flu etc which are highly communicable to human beings. The minister in his speech spoke about various schemes which could highly benefit rural people.A tatal of 530 animals were treated and 800 vaccinated against HS & BQ diseases.Dr.Bhupen Saharia,SDVO,Bhergaon; Dr.Bhupen Sarma, Dr.(Mrs) Irene Begum and internee Prasanta Baro along with veterinary field officers and employees attended the dayl ong camp. Another free animal treatment cum vaccination and awareness camp under RKVY was arranged at Dakhin Kuyabil village under Kalaigaon State Veterinary Dispensary on June 19.The camp covered three villages namely-Dakhin Kuyabil, Deor and Damaruguri .Inaugurating the camp Dr.Naba Kumar Das, VAS, Kalaigaon explained about various schemes launched for the benefit of the people. He also spoke about the preventive measures against most dreaded animal diseases. According to him, farmers have been suffering loss because of their ignorance about the parasites in animals and birds. He said regular vaccination against diseases and medication against parasites and other infectious diseases could return good profit to farmers.250 nos of animals were treated and more than 300 vaccinated against diseases like HS & BQ.etc. Dr.P.Konwar and other veterinary staff assisted Dr.Das in the camp.
