Barpeta Anchalik AASU demands ban of liquor and gutkha

Barpeta anchalik AASU submitted a memorandum to the SP, Barpeta and demanded to stop the selling of illicit liquor at Barpeta. In the memorandum it is mentioned that this dangerous liquor and gutkha have completely spoiled the youths specially the school students. Most of the students or addicted persons have to suffered diseases of liver, heart etc and some lost their lives. The colorful packets of the gutkhas attracts the students. Mentionable that there is a dreadful chemical in tobacco or chupari. Magnesium carbonet (MgCo2) and affected the addicted people very badly. The AASU unit demanded the Superintendent of Police to stop the selling of gutkas and illicit liquor as early as possible at Barpeta. There is a ban at Barpeta during the time of the former DC that the gutkhas cannot be sold within 200 metres of any educational institution. But it is not executed now.

Good news. Manas Sanctuary is all set to get 6 more rhinos afresh. Courtesy US Fish & Wild Life services( FWL), International Rhino Foundation( IRF), and World Wild Fund (WWF). These agencies are implementing the Indian Rhino Visssion 2020 aiming at increasing 3000 Rhino population in all the seven sanctuaries in the state.
