JBF India – Profiling a trust that works for animal welfare in Guwahati

JBF (INDIA) is a professionally managed registered (as trust) animal welfare organization. It is promoted by JBF (Scotland), a Scottish charity. JBF (INDIA) is also the member society of World Society for Protection of Animals (WSPA), one of the largest animal welfare organizations in the world. the projects of JBF. JBF [JBF (INDIA) & JBF Welfare Organization] are welfare organizations and the organizations were born due to the love for suffering animals & slum dwellers of Mr. Jonny. He wanted to help the animals in suffering to have a more bearable & adorable life & tried to make the life of the slum children a bit better and accordingly with Dr. Sashanka, who looks after the projects of JBF started the projects initially at Kotla Mubarakpur area of South Delhi. JBF have two wings that work for the welfare of Animals and Human. Under the name JBF (INDIA) which is a registered trust, the ongoing projects are Mobile Cattle Clinic for Street and Stray Cattle of South Delhi & Mobile Animal Clinic for Street & Stray animals at Guwahati for On the Spot Treatment. Under the banner JBF Welfare organization the ongoing projects are JBF Informal School at Prem Nagar & Viklang Basti in South Delhi and a Women Literacy project at Viklang BJBF has a mobile animal clinic for street & stray animals at Guwahati which provides free minor veterinary care to the suffering and injured animals on the street itself (On the Spot Treatment) and the animals that need regular supervision are forwarded to an organization that have the treatment house. There is also a plan for a Treatment House of our own depending on the fund availability, where the animals will be treated by our team. We have a trained team comprising of one Vet also, Dr Dhruba Das. Recently, Mr. Jonny Krause, Trustee of JBF (Scotland) has completed his campaigning ride from Scotland to India. He started this campaigning to promote the projects of JBF in India. Mr. Jonny started his journey from Scotland, travelling down through England and across the Channel to France. He then travelled across countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria then in to Turkey. From Turkey he crossed into Iran which is in the spotlight at the moment due to international tensions over their nuclear program. From Iran he crossed the Iran/Pakistan border which has problems with Guerrilla militias operating close to the border areas, so this was crossed during daylight and with no stopping for sight seeing. However once clear of the troubled areas his main problems again was break downs and lack of fuel. Once across Pakistan at his final border crossing to India, again the same trouble with Guerrilla militias and drug traffickers so he adopted a quick daylight crossing to ensure a safe passage.

Throughout the ride Mr. Jonny conveyed the message to each and everyone he met of the poor condition of the Slum dwellers & their children and also the street cattle of Delhi & the cattle held in the cities cattle shelters and this was received with interest all along the way.

Dr. Sashanka
