Sonitpur: 5 militants killed in encounter

Three NDFB rebels were killed along with two MULTA militants at an encounter in Sonitpur district of Assam on Monday morning.
According to information, these rebels locked in a fierce gun battle with the troops of the Red Horns division in the wee hours at Akabasti near Balipara in the central Assam district. The five militants killed on the spot during the heavy exchange of firing..

Sources said five 9-mm pistols, a Chinese grenade, five kg of explosives, 10 detonators, 107 rounds of AK series ammunition were recovered from the slain ultras.
