According to information, the incident took place at Jharbari area as some unidentified blank fired in front of an election office of the Hagrama Mohilary led BPF office. No one was injured in the incident
The incident of blank firing took place barely 12 hours after the explosion of a powerful grenade at Khagrabari in Chirang district targeting a BPF election rally on Thursday evening. The tragedy was averted as by then the rally was over. One person was injury in the incident.

Blank firing near BPF Office in Kokrajhar its a clear sign that in BTAD area the conducting poll will not be an uneasy task this time. No one knows who was the culprit.But one thing can be sure that there will be much bloodshed in coming days due to the party's engagement in capturing power whatever may be the situation.The Central and State government have to deploy extra paramilitary in hypersensitive areas like kokrajhar, chirang and Baksa.

Karimganj is going to repoll in 75 polling booths in Karimganj on Tuesday. The repolling has been ordered following the allegations of large scale rigging and booth capturing on 9th of January. The Barpeta police have recovered two powerful bombs from a bus operating under the Assam State Transport Corporation in the district on Saturday.. According to information, the two bombs have been found during a routine check by the police at the ASTC bus stand on Barpeta Road.
