Bomb blast at Tezpur: 12 injured

Atleast 12 persons including two CRPF jawans sustained injury when suspected ULFA rebels exploded a powerful bomb at the Tezpur Civil Hospital Chariali at around 7 in the evening. Some of the injured persons have been identified as Ratan Mahanti, Birendra Kumar, Krishna Gupta, Ajit Pandit and Raju Gupta. According to information, the incident took place inside the hospital at around 7 in the evening. The CRPF jawans have been seriously injured in the incident. Others haver been shifted to the hospital for the treatment. Police have yet to ascertain who are behind the explosion. Details are awaited.

These Blasts are incurred because of the police man who don't do the right duty but only search for people who can give them money, as a bribe. Assam Police should improve.

Police arrested two youths in Tamulpur on Saturday when they were carrying explosive to Kokrajhar.In a sensational revelation, the duo known to be from an insurgent outfit, procured grenades from an army jawan in Darrangimela. They procured explosives to be deposited before the authorities at a surrender ceremony. Police arrested the duo on their way to Kokrajhar from Darranga.

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has claimed to have discovered a new oil well in the in Golaghat district. The oil giant said that the new well has been spotted in Chalukpather area in the district bordering Nagaland. Public sector energy giant ONGC has started drilling oil along the inter-state border between Assam and Nagaland in both Jorhat and Golaghat districts. ONGC officials said that the Navaratna company would be paying royalty to Assam for its work along the border.
