FETE by YWCA

Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) of Guwahati is organizing a FETE (In aid to Community Development Programme of YWCA) at its premises at Chatribari on 14th March 2009 (Saturday) from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm. Their will be exhibition, food stall, hand made items, games, exciting contest, etc. “We are organizing it to generate some aid for our social outreach programme and we solicit support from people”, said Anamika Gogoi ,one of the active member of YWCA Guwahati Chapter. Interested individuals may participate in the fete to make a grand success, stated a press release of YWCA.

Mohilary distributes land pattas

A total of 702 tribal families were given away land pattas, covering 300 bighas of forest land under the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 under Chirang Forest Division at a function held at Dhunabari Lower Primary school in Chirang Tuesday. PM steps down

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh put in his papers before the President on Saturday. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi said that he would quit taking moral responsibility of his party's dismal show in the Lok Sabha polls.
