Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said the gas cracker project at Lepetkota in Dibrugarh would be completed in time . The Chief Minister on Sunday visited the multi-crore project and reviewed its progress with high level officers. The senior officials of the project explained the progress of work with a map during the discussion. He admitted that various reasons forced delay in the project but of late, it is progressing rapidly.
Prime minister Manmohan Singh laid the cornerstone of the multi-crore project in April 26, 2006.. The prime minister announced that the project would be completed within a period of five years.

We are very happy to know that the gas craker project will completed very soon after begining the work including 5 years.

AASU did provide their basic demands.Its true that one project cannot take all of the unemplyment from the state.
Also ,100% may not be a justified demand but i think 80% : 20% percent is justified one.
It very important that brilliant students be at top because else the project may go hayway and this will again prevent the feasible futuristic employment.

Despite watertight security, a low intensity blast exploded near Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s official residence in Koinadhara leaving a teenager boy injured on Saturday.He sustained injury when a detonator he carried home exploded near Gogoi's official residence at Koinadhora. Identified as Sanjib Das, the boy found the detonator attached to a wire at a stone quarry on the Assam-Meghalaya border and was carrying it home at Uday Nagar and it exploded in the high security area.According to police, the teenager suffered minor injuries in the explosion which was a small one and caused no damage. He said that Das was administered first aid at a hospital and released.

Tension prevails in Tinsukia a day after the owner of a tea estate and his wife were charred to death by a mob of angry workers. The incident took place at the Borduma Tea Estate when the estate owner Mridul Kumar Bhattacharjee and his wife Rita Bhattacharjee were burnt alive in the evening. A local trader sustained serious injury at a shoot out in Gossaigaon in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.The incident took place at night when unidentified gunmen fired upon the trader at his residence before disappearing in dense darkness.
