Celebration of UNESCO World Heritage Status for Charaideo Moidam and Felicitation of Key Contributors

The people of Guwahati, along with the Tai Ahom people, will come together to celebrate the historic recognition of Charaideo Moidams-the Mound-Burial system of the Ahom Dynasty as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The event will honor the key individuals whose tireless efforts contributed to achieving this prestigious milestone.

The event will be held at Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College Guwahati, with Dr. K.C. Noriwal, a renowned historian, and other eminent personalities gracing the occasion as chief guests.

As part of the program, a detailed presentation showcasing the significance of the Moidams will be screened.

  GUWAHATI: Former chief minister Tarun Gogoi strongly criticised the government for the move to delay in the publication of the NRC since the government does not want it. One person died in Guwahati a couple of days after he sustained serious injury in leopard attack. Identified as Anowar Hussain, the local resident of Dhirenpara area died early in the morning on Thursday.  A leopard, which came down from the nearby hills in search of food unleashed a reign of terror in Dhirenpara area with serial attack on four local resident before being captured inside a school building.  Anowar, along with three others were undergoing treatment at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was released two days later.  His family members have blamed it all on the doctors for releasing him in a haste.
SIVASAGAR:Security forces claimed to have captured a dreaded ULFA-I rebel during combing operation in Sivasagar on Tuesday. GUWAHATI:The police team probing the APSC scam got remand of Rajarshi Sen Deka for fourteen days after they produced the Baska circle officer before a special court in Guwahati on Monday. Deka, the son of former m ok minister Nilomoni Sen Deka, went underground hours before the police launched the massive crackdown against the accused officers who managed their selection resorting to forgery in the answerscripts.
