Kashmira Rahman, a 2022 graduate of Assam Don Bosco University's Biochemistry program, has secured a prestigious Taiwan ICDF (International Cooperation and Development Fund) scholarship to pursue her PhD in Tropical Agriculture at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.
Rahman's journey to Taiwan began with her passion for Mandarin language and culture. Inspired by the vibrant culture of Mandarin-speaking countries, she enrolled in Mandarin classes at ADBU's Taiwan Education Center. It was there that she learned about the Taiwan ICDF scholarship and decided to apply.
The scholarship, which covers almost all expenses for four years, aligned perfectly with Rahman's academic and personal goals. She was drawn to the scholarship's emphasis on contributing to the development of her home country.
During her year in Taiwan, Rahman has been impressed by the country's cleanliness, punctuality, and friendly people. She has also found her PhD program to be supportive and academically stimulating.
Rahman attributes her success in Taiwan to the Mandarin classes she took at ADBU. The classes, taught by a qualified Taiwanese language teacher, focused on practical conversation, character writing, and cultural exchange.
Encouraged by her positive experience, Rahman recommends learning Mandarin to others interested in studying abroad or enhancing their career prospects. She believes that Taiwan offers a unique and valuable learning experience.
