Rabha Divosh Observed with Fervor Across BTR Districts

KOKRAJHAR, Assam: The 55th Rabha Divosh, commemorating the legacy of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha, was celebrated with a series of programs across the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) districts on Thursday, June 20th.

Remembering Rabha's Contributions

The day was marked by tributes to Rabha, a revered figure who tirelessly advocated for the welfare and development of Assam. Various organizations, including the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), held programs to honor his dedication to the upliftment of the greater Assamese society.

ABSU Organizes Events in Chirang and Kokrajhar

In Chirang, the ABSU central committee, along with the district committee, observed the Rabha Divosh at their Kajalgaon office complex. The program commenced with floral tributes to Rabha, followed by speeches from invited guests. Dr. Anil Kumar Boro of Guwahati University addressed the gathering as the chief guest.

The ABSU president, Dipen Boro, highlighted Rabha's lifelong commitment to the well-being of the common people. He emphasized that Rabha's values of sacrifice and service would continue to inspire future generations. Notably, the ABSU felicitated 15 prominent personalities from diverse communities, including Bodo and Rabha, fostering a spirit of integration.

Similarly, in Kokrajhar, the district committee of ABSU collaborated with the North Kokrajhar anchalik committee to observe the Rabha Divosh. ABSU leaders, members, and local residents paid homage to Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha.

BTR CEM Pays Tribute

Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of the Bodoland Territorial Region, also offered his respects to Rabha. He lauded Rabha's unwavering dedication to the welfare and social integration of the masses. Boro emphasized that Rabha's work for the underprivileged communities would be remembered for generations to come. He further stressed Rabha's vision of social upliftment with dignity and unity for all Assamese citizens.

The 55th Rabha Divosh served as a testament to the enduring legacy of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha and his immense contributions to the BTR and Assam as a whole.

KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead.
