Normalcy set to restore in Karbi Anglong as KLNLF suspends blockade

Life in the simmering Karbi Anglong district is believe to limp back to normalcy as the KLNLF is withdrawing the indefinite rail and road blockade from Tuesday.
According to information, the Karbi militant outfit has decided to withdraw it for 21 days in view of the inconvenience of the people in general. During the last eleven days-the rail and road blockade has thrown normal life out of gear besides leaving a string of sporadic incidents.

Hours after the indefinite economic blockade came to force the Karbi militant outfit trigged a powerful blast inside the passenger train in Diphu where 3 persons dead and over 30 were left injured. This was followed by the killing of two Hindi-speaking persons of a same family at Dolamora area in the hills district. Moreover, altogether seven crude bombs have been recovered from several places during this period.

The last one blast during this period was on Saturday at Kheroni area border Nagaon district where at least nine people have been injured. KLNLF has warned of resuming the strike if the government further fails to address their concern.
