On Tuesday, the All Manipur Women’s Development Forum in a statement deeply condoled the demise of Khelen Thokchom, one of the highly respected journalists of North East. SENAPATI, Mar 23 (NENA): Tripartite talks involving the Centre, Manipur government and United Naga Council (UNC) to end the deadlock over creation of new districts remained “inconclusive.” On Friday, talks were held at the DRDA conference hall, Senapati district headquarters from 11:25 till 2 pm. IMPHAL, Mar 14 : In one of the biggest recoveries of contraband items in recent times, troops of 12 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles apprehended a drug peddler with brown sugar and WY tablets worth approximately Rs 11.96 crore near Tengnoupal on March 13. Acting on specific input, a TATA Sumo Grande(Regd No TR01 U 0250) was stopped at MVCP Tengnoupal at about 1800 hours yesterday and on through checking of the vehicle, 138 packets of brown sugar weighing 1.865 kg and 450 packets containing 90,000 WY tablets were found very well concealed inside the vehicle, as per a release from PRO of IGAR (S) on Wednesday.
