Murchana music education centre’s annual cultural programme held

A packed audience was regaled by a stimulating cultural show at the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati on 17 July, 2022. Like the previous years, the students of the Murchana Music Education Centre captivated audiences with their instrumental and vocal performances of Assamese, Hindi and western music. The programme, anchored by Parismita Bordoloi and Mamoni Bakatial, began with a rendition of the bhajan "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram" by Navya Bawri. It was followed by a number of budding artistes weaving magic with their skilful interpretations of various Hindi, Assamese and western music on the guitar, keyboard and piano, including Chonee Kalita, Devanuj Gogoi, Dhanistha Devi, Ruchir Bordoloi, Ayan Kalita, Parikshit Boro, Dhritiraj Kalita, Priyangshu Saikia, Dubari Kalita, Nihaal Kashyap, Lavya Agarwala, Aaryan Kashyap Gogoi, Tejanshi Jayantam, Kunal Das, Shams Hazarika, Deeptangshu Patgiri, Jarnav Chakravarty, Mrinav Chaliha, Mayank Chakrabarty, Milind Chouhury, Nikunj Bawri, among others. Besides a vocal rendition by child artist Nishita Kalita, the function also showcased a Bharatanatyam performance by Dixita Patgiri, Kathak by Nikita Devi and a Bihu dance by Yuvica J Sharma, adding a lot of charm and freshness to the proceedings. The programme also saw the felicitation of Barnali Kalita, Chandana Kalita and Hiranya Kalita.
