Two kiilled in Train mishap
Two persons including a woman were killed in a train mishap took place on Monday 6:15 pm at railway lines of Tuhura village under Kamalpur Police Station. According to the Railway Police Sources, One Abdul Hannan Dewan tried to cross the railway line by one white Maruti van but it was suddenly hit by Up North Express. The driver cum owner of Maruti van Abdul Hannan Dewan (40) and his mother Maijan Bibi (60) who was one of the passengers of the Maruti van were killed on the spot.
The van was totaly destroyed in the incident due to which the number of the vehicle has not been recovered till this time.The train stopped for half an hour after the incident. Later Baihata Railway Police cleared the railway track and the train started the journy. It is to be noted that there is no railway gate at Tuhura but people cross railway line with their vehicles illegaly. The investigation is on regarding the incident.

The 112th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated today at Kamalpur alongwith other parts of the country by the Kamalpur Nabajyoti Club with a day long programme. Kamalpur Police today apprehended one ULFA cadre namely Khargeswar Kalita (22) from Panitema village under Kamrup district. Police launched an operation acting on specific information and nabbed the 709 battalion cadre. According to Police, Khargeswar Kalita is a trained militant and was involved in extortion in north Kamrup. Police seized some documents related to ULFA from his possession. Two persons were killed in an accident took place at Hajo under Kamrup district today at 1-30pm. According to the police sources the driver of bus No. AS-01/0444 lost his control while going to Kedar temple of Hajo and the bus fall down from the hills of Kedar temple.Two passengers of the bus namely Anil Das (26) and Nitujit Das (22) were killed on the spot and 10 others got injury. Ghanashyam Murari Shrivastava has taken over the charge as the Director General,Assam Police from today. He is an IPS of Assam and Meghalaya cadre and of 1972 batch.
