Bir Chilagang Basumatary remembered

KOKRAJHAR: Peoples from all walks of life and organisation remembered Bir Chilagang Basumatary, now defunct  founder chairman of Bodo Liberation Tiger (BLT), towards the Bodoland movement, who revolt with arms for the separate state of Bodoland within India, on his 23th death anniversary being organised at the burial place Bir Chilagang Puri at Bongshigaon on Sunday in Kokrajhar district.

Local people thronged to paid floral tribute at the  cemetery of Basumatary at  Bongshigaon, was organized by Bir Chilagang Martyrs Tomb Development Committee, Bongshigaon.       

Ramani Basumatary, widow of late Basumatary paid floral tribute followed by leaders from various organisations. Basumatary survived by wife, two sons and a daughter. Basumatary was born on 1st February, 1959 at Bongshigaon and expired on June 28, 1997 due to prolonged illness.

Assam Social welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma,ex-BTC executive members Rajib Brahma,former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma,UPPL leader Rabiram Brahma,
chairman of ex-BLT welfare sosciety Janamahan Mushahary, leaders from ABSU,BPF,Tribal Sangha,ABWWF paid tribute to Bsaumatary and observed one minute silent condolence in memory of Basumatary for his departed soul.

KOKRAJHAR: An eight-member delegation of  a special review committee on detention center, led by chairman Debojit Mukherjee visited the detention center in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. KOKRAJHAR: Indonesian paragliders have won first prizes in the first-ever Bodoland international Paragliding accuracy championship-2019. The event concluded on Thursday after four day programme at Dangdupur Hill in Kokrajhar district. 68 participants from 11 countries participated in the championship and displayed their paragliding skills. 22 foreign paragliders participanted in the event. KOKRAJHAR: The first-ever Bodoland International accuracy Paragliding championship-2019 began from Monday at Dangdupur Hill, Kokrajhar district. 68 participants, including nine countries, are participating the championship. Kokrajhar: A sea of humanity is seeing along the Samoka Irrigation sluice gate River bank to participate in the community fishing near Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. The community fishing saw like festivity since early morning.
