World Spay Day Observed

This year, to observe the occasion of World Spay Day, JBF a Guwahati based social welfare organization who does animal welfare, has conducted an awareness program which included regular activity of ABC-ARV (Animal Birth Control and Anti Rabies Vaccination) of street/community dogs at JBF centre, Panjabari, Guwahati where visitors were also welcome to visit the centre and witness the practical works on their own on the mentioned day from 11.00am to 3.00pm. Similarly to spread the word and aware the mass about spay/neuter, JBF has also conducted social media campaign with informative Spay/Neuter creative over different social media platforms. Also JBF members have distributed informative leaflets in various locations of Guwahati on the day of World Spay Day.

In addition to this JBF has taken up an initiative to provide coupons with three month validity to the pet parents of Guwahati using which they can spay/neuter their pet dog/cat at free of cost (excluding medicinal cost) with support of Hiyaa’s (clinic and surgical centre for pets).Besides JBF members have pasted informative stickers in clinics & pets shops in Guwahati to create awareness.

World Spay Day is a great opportunity to not only make a difference, but also educate pet parents and caretakers on the importance and benefits of sterilization (Spay/Neuter). It is an event that joins everyone around the world in one single effort to help control pet overpopulation and decrease the number of homeless and euthanized animals in our areas.

It is amazing to be part of something so great, something celebrated worldwide. Hence, we request everyone to kindly support us and be a part of a great cause.

In terms of regular Spay/Neuter of community/stray dogs in Guwahati, Fondation Brigitte Bardot (FBB) & Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) have extended their support to JBF and besides helping in regular activities Help Animals India (HAI) has extended support to conduct World Spay Day 2020.
