NDFB-S cadres held

KOKRAJHAR: Four  cadres of National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra faction(NDFB-S) were apprehended by security forces at Suwagpur near Goreswar in Baksa district on Thursday.

According to Police source,the NDFB-S outfit organization demanded ransom  INR 5 lakh from  a businessman Bilifang Narzary of Tamulpur.

Two militant cadres were arrested at Baihata Chariali in Kamrup rural while coming to receive demanded ransom on Thursday by security forces belonging to Assam Police,CRPF and India army.

They were identified as Dhaneswar Boro of Tamulpur and Raju Swargiary of Dekiajuli of Sonitpur.

Later,on their revealation two more cadres were also arrested from Owabari of Baksa district.They have been identified as Bijoy Boro and Soneswar Boro.

Five mobile handsets were recovered from their possession.

Footballer Apurna Narzary to receive Emerging Player award in Bodoland Territorial Region

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. Mountaineering Training Kicks Off in Kokrajhar

A five-day mountaineering training program, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare department of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government, begins on Thursday at the Dangdupur Hills Site in Kokrajhar. BTR Peace Accord Day celebrated

On Friday, the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) observed the third BTR Peace Accord Day as "Day of Peace" on Friday.  A massive bike peace rally was held in Kokrajhar, the "City of Peace." 3 arrested under arms act

Three individuals, including former MLA and senior BPF (Bodoland People's Front) leader Hitesh Basumatary, were arrested by police in Baksa district after a search operation at Basumatary's residential complex resulted in the recovery of a large cache of illegal arms and ammunition. ISPL 2022: Bodoland lifts trophy

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district. Sonam Basumatary of Bodoland Territorial Region scored the lone goal against Lai Autonomous in 51 minutes of the second half. This led his team to win the tournament 1-0.
