NDFB-P optimistic on Bodoland issues

KOKRAJHAR: The National Democratic Front of Boroland - Progressive (NDFB-P) has hopes that the BJP-led NDA government is taking strong initiatives to make solution to the issue and demands of the Bodoland statehood through political dialogue.

A ceasefire is in operation between the the NDFB-P and the government since 2005. The outfit is participating the peace talks over issues and demands of the Bodoland statehood.

The militant outfit organisation has observed 31st martyrs day with day long programme scheduled at various designated camps in lower Assam districts on Saturay. In Kokrajhar,the militant outfit organisation observed the martyrs day at Kumguri Serfanguri designated camp.

Judicial secretary of the organisation, B Benga hoisted organisational flag followed by floral tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed for the caused of the Bodoland statehood struggle.General Secretary of All Bodo Student's Union (ABSU) paid floral tribute on the occasion.

In Udalguri, the NDFB-P observed the day at Sapekaiti designated camp where president of the militant outfit organisation Gavinda Basumatary attended.

General Secretary of the NDFB-P, S Sanjarang said that the NDFB-P has come into ceasefire with government in 2005 and since then participating the peace talks with centre and peace interlocutor on the issues of NDFB and Bodoland statehood demand.He said that peace talks with government is going on right direction and positive on the Bodoland statehood demand.He said that Centre is taking serious step towards Bodoland demand issues as Centre has recently initiated to create two union territories bifurcating Jammu and Kashmir state to provide good administration and healthy integration in Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir region.

He has urged the BJP led NDA government to solve the demand and issues of the Bodoland statehood through political dialogue with immediate way.

He informed that over 40 rounds of peace talks in formal/ informal were held on Bodoland statehood issue and demands with centre since its ceasefire comes.He said that present Union Home Minister Amit Shah has stressed to the demands and issue of the Bodoland issues.He said that Bodoland statehood demand issue is getting positive response from the centre and hopeful that issue will get political solution immediate.

Welcoming the centre's  decision to create union territories bifurcating of the Jammu and Kashmir, Sanjarang said that the Bodoland statehood has to be solved through the political dialogue in the line of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir. He said that Bodos are son of soils in the region. Creation of a Bodoland state is needed for better governance.

On the division of the organisation, Sanjarang said that there is no any division within NDFB-P organization as expelled leader Dhiren Boro claimed. He said that Dhiren Boro and his associate member M Fwilao were expelled from the organisation for involved with anti organization activities.

Kokrajhar, May 2:  A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district. The three youths, identified as Deep Saha, Raj Saha, and Abhijit Karmakar, all from Barpeta Road, reportedly went missing after entering the river for a swim on Wednesday evening.
