Blast in Assam; protest in Delhi

After the serial blast that rocked Assam with a toll of 88, now it’s a spate of protest that spills to the national capital. The main Opposition Asom Gana Parishad on Wednesday staged a dharna in front of the Red Fort demanding immediate dissolution of the Tarun Gogoi government alleging a cocktail of the terrorist forces with the power-that-be-in Dispur.

Talking to Assam Times, AGP MP Dr Arun Kumar Sarma said the state has been witnessing an increasing trend of ISI activists to make the situation more grim. He said if these refuse to die down, the situation would span out of control.

Dr Sarma further said a judicial probe is needed to unearth the truth behind the entire tragic incident that sent shockwaves across the state.
Other AGP MPs Birendra Prasad Baishya, Sarbananda Sonowal, Kumar Dipak Das also participated in protest programme.
