BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary said BTC has no objections to the granting of ST status to the Six communities in the state of Assam.However,he has put emphasised to the intact of the existing STs, said that existing STs should not be affected at any costs.
Mohilary while chairing after BTC executive council meeting at BTC Secretariat today said that 17th Bodoland Day would be celebrated on February 10 in Kokrajhar on which day BTC accord was signed in 2003. Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal will grace as chief guest,he said.
He also inform that Bodoland martyrs families will also be given away ex gratia on the day.
He said that BTC administration has no objections to the granting of ST status to the six communities of the state of Assam. He said that existing ST communities should not be affected and deprived from their rights and facilities.
He said that BTC executive council meeting discussed on the developmental activities of the region and extended well gesture to the ST status to the Six communities of the state. He said that the Bodoland Day will witness nearly lakh people's gathering with colourful programme scheduled in Kokrajhar.
'There is no objections to the granting of Scheduling Tribes status to the six communities.The ST status must grant without affecting existing STs in the state of Assam', Mohilary said.
