Protest against Modi

Various organisation and parties in BTAD region including Congress, All BTC Minority Students Union (ABMSU),All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU), BTAD Nath Yogi Students Union, have dead opposed the  move to make implementation of Citizenship Amendment Bill- 2016 and slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal the ongoing issue across the state.

The students bodies demanded early cancellation of the bill for the greater interest of integrated Assam state.

 Hundreds of ABMSU members staged a protest dharna at Monakocha near Fakiragram along the Bilashipra-Serfanguri Road in Kokrajhar district.Protestors shouted slogans in protest against the PM Modi’s remarks to implement the Citizenship Bill through the ongoing parliament session.

On Wednesday, PM Modi sounded to implement the Citizenship Bill at any costs across the country  while addressong a rally in Silchar of Assam.

Police seized the effigies of PM Modi,CM Sonowal at Monakocha  as ABMSU activists tried to burn the effigies to protest and show anger against PM’s remarks.

Congress leader, Mazaharul Islam strongly criticised the PM Modi’s remarks on Citizenship Bill across the state.

He accused that BJP led NDA has been trying to destablished the Assam’s integrity and unity by implementing the bill.

‘BJP led NDA government has totally been trying to disregard  Assam state and so BJP led state government has supported the bill on its implementation.It is a totally political conspiracy to gain BJP’s party strategy ahead Parliametary elections’,Islam said.

Former presidenrt of Tribal Sangha,Ranjit Kumar Borgoyary has also expressed his resented over PM Modi’s remarks on Citizenship Bill and demanded early cancellation of the bill.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
