Himanta visits Kokrajhar

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Kokrajhar medical college would be constructed with amounting of Rs. 382.7 crores and its completion will be done by next three years. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will lay foundation stone on January 6 for College at Debargaon Beswargaon in Kokrajhar district.

Dr Sarma was arrived in Kokrajhar by 10.30 in the moning at SAI Centre to make field verification for laying Medical College in Kokrajhar. Dr Sarma made a field verification site for medical college at Beswargaon where Medical College would be constructed.He was accompanied BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary,Assam minister Chandan Brahma during the visit.

He said that necessary arrangement and preparations are so far made to lay foundation stone for the college as CM is scheduled to visit on January 6 next.He has expressed his hopeful that the Kokrajhar medical college will be facilitating proper medical services in the region and more doctors would be come out through the college.

A special session of the BTAD journalists and National Press Day was concluded at Kokrajhat on Wednesday at Bodofa Cultural complex after three days programme in Kokrajhar district. 2 NDFB-S cadres held

Security forces apprehended two cadres of NDFB-S from Kumguri area under Saraibil police outpost in Kokrajhar district today morning.  The cadres were identified as Sormat Mushahary and Ramdas Narzary. Two country made pistol, four live ammunition and mobile handset recovered from them.

Security forces apprehended a cadre of NDFB(S) from Nabinagar forest village under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district on Saturday. Based on information about presence of militant cadre, a joint operation was launched by police, army 3 Rajput and CRPF Cobra 210 battalion(Bn) at the area in the early morning at 3:30 AM and apprehended a NDFB(S). Rail blocked at Chautara

Rail services were disrupted for six hours due to blockade at Chautara station in Kokrajhar district on Tuesdsy demanding grant of Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Koch Rajbongshis and create separate Kamatapur state within Indian constitution.
