Durga Puja spirit soars on Maha Saptami

.Hojai:-Pomp and gaiety marked Maha Saptami - day two of the Durga Puja - as thousands of devotees thronged up in their best hit the streets of the Hojai on Tuesday.
Since early morning, people have been thronging colossal puja pandals (marquees) where idols of the goddess and her four children are being worshipped amid much community fanfare. In around, Hojai district, theme puja's creativity are grabbing the headlines and wooing pandal hoppers. Around 350 puja pandals have been set up in the entire Hojai district. Different puja committees have made variety of replicas on different themes like, showcasing Titantic at Gandhi Maidan in Hojai , Ram Mandir themed Puja Pandal in Lumding is grabbing much attention , Eighteen hands Maa Durga by Adarsha Durga Puja Samity is an point of attraction for decade's,Similarly various awareness based decoration on importance on cleanliness, no use of plastic;etc, different pandals in Hojai have used variety of lighting and umbrellas which is attracting onlookers.
Talking to this Correspondent, Marwari Durgautsav Samitty's President Rajesh Kejriwal along with Secretary Ram Chandra Sharma Said," Our main motive is service to humanity, since the year 2013 we are organising this festival here in Laxminaryan temple campus smoothly, We are offering Drinking Water to everyone during five days of celebration and here devotees can sit, relax and rejuvenate themselves after much fatigue during Puja hours." "Also Maha-Prasadam is distributed on the day of Maha-Astami and Maha-Navmi."They added.
Notably, each puja pandal in Hojai is famous for its own uniqueness. On the other hand,Police authorities have made proper security arrangements in the district to ensure a smooth and peaceful Durga Puja.

HOJAI: Amid simmering shock and anger over sexual crimes across the nation two miscreants allegedly gangraped a girl in Hojai before being dumped on the National Highway No 54 on Wednesday. Local residents spotted the girl in dire straights in the morning who called up police and rushed her to the Nilbagan Model Hospital. According to information, two youths took away the girl from Samoguri in Nagaon district on Tuesday and gangraped at night and dumped her by the roadside.
