Gold seized in Guwahati again

GUWAHATI: Guwahati, the gateway to the north eastern region has become a safe route for gold smuggling these days.

Security forces attached to the Northeast Frontier Railway seized twelve pieces of gold worth Rs 70 lakh from a New Delhi bound train on Friday.

Acting on a tip off, a team of railway police raided two passengers from the Rajdhani Express just before it departing the city in the morning and seized the gold biscuits brought from Dimapur.

Later, the duo were taken to the hospital since they brought the biscuits in the question in their rectum.
