TURA: Security forces in and around Adangpak village in the East Garo Hills of Meghalaya are continuing the massive operation in search of another dreaded north eastern rebel leader a day after they eliminated GNLA chief Sohan D Shira at an encounter.
Dense jungles in the entire huge area are being cordoned off to locate Dristi Rajkhowa acting on an input of the presence of ULFA(I) deputy Commander in Chief.
Round-the-clock vigil is in place along the Indo- Bangla border to prevent these dreaded rebels from leaving the north eastern state. Similar vigil is also there along the Assam-Meghalaya inter state border apprehending attempt of the ULFA-I leader and close aide of Presh Barua to enter into his home state.
Inputs have suggested presence of Rajkhowa along with Sohan in the same team till the encounter took place where the GNLA chief was shot dead.
The fierce gun battle took place two four days after the Garo rebels killed NCP candidate Jonathone N Sangma along with his two associates and two security guards
