ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu has ordered a thorough probe into the Tezu incident on Monday where an irrate mob lynched two rape accused from Assam after dragging out the duo from police custody.
The chief minister has asked the police authority to institute an inquiry into the incident and to submit the findings by the next seven days.
On the other hand, Tezu SP has been transferred while the Tezu police station OC along with an sub inspector and a constable have been suspended.
Security forces are fanning in the nook and corner of the town after the authority promulgated 144 CrPC prohibiting gathering of people in the town.
The rape accused duo who were caught on Sunday was produced before a local court who remanded them to four days police custody where they confessed to have committed the crime.
Local residents, mostly, from Mismi village forcibly stormed into the police station and dragged out the duo to the street and burnt them alive after mercilessly beating up.
