In Assam, Power Maddens

It is amusing to see note that Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thinks that the NDFB has hoisted Pakistani flag in Udalguri. I hope he knows that as soon as this act was done, the flag hoisting was reported in Pakistani media. This proves that the Muslim terrorists have an organised network from Assam to Pakistan. And the ministers of Assam are always there to cover up their crimes because of vote-bank politics.

No one should dare to blame the native tribals. Our Bodo brothers have not set up villge after village in Bangladesh. It is the Bangladehis who have swarmed all our forests and fields. The state govt as well as the central govt should very well know that.

The govt wants to blame NDFB for everything, but not itself for allowing illegal migrants to settle and murder the natives. Blaming militants for everything is the easiest thing, but let me tell you that the first attack was from immigrant Muslims. It was well planned. It started just after they celebrated their festival in peace. They were planning for 'Jihad' after Id and disrupted Puja celebrations by the ethnic cleansing of the native tribals.

Morever, the remarks of CM Tarun Gogoi are weird. When he says that it is the flag of Id, this can be the greatest joke in the present times.

We can only request our hopeless ministers to keep their mouth shut or use the words "No comments" when they have nothing useful to say in such situations. They only make clowns of themselves by speaking out such ridiculous comments.

We all know of the proverb, "Power Corrupts". In Assam, we can add another proverb for the likes of Gogoi and Sarma, "POWER MADDENS". Assamese politicians have been rendered mad by political power.

Rhino poaching continues in Pobitora

Despite the ravaging flood waves, poachers in the Kaziranga National Park along with other sanctuaries are still striking. Most of the animals in the sanctuary have fled to higher grounds to get rid of watery grave. An adult male rhino was killed by poachers inside the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Morigaon district on Wednesday night. The poachers, who are believed to have come on a boat killed the rhino and managed to flee with the horn. The carcass was spotted on Thursday. Flood water since past one week and most of the animals in the sanctuary have fled to higher grounds.

Tearful farewell to lifeless Hiren Bhatta

People thronged in thousands at the Navagraha cremation ground on Thursday morning to get the last glimpse of famed poet Hiren Bhatta who breathed his last on Wednesday. His body was taken away from Snehtirtha at a procession of thousands of people. Carcasses floating on receding waters at KNP

Devastating flood waters continue to show receding trend. But the blues of the displaced birds and animals in the Kaziranga National Park and other sanctuaries are still surging. Flood brings landslide on NH 52

Continuing landslide in Dhemaji heavily disrupts surface communication between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday. A vital portion of the National Highway 52 eroded rapidly in Behbeli area from Wednesday night after around 20 villages came under the surging waters. The situation took a grim turn after the surging waters of the Ziadhal, Kumotia rivers washed away a culvert in between Murkokcheleng and Rongia railway lines. Barak valley is still burning with violent protest even a week after the mob attack on MLA Rumi Nath. His famed Sugandhi Pokhila has been translated into English.
