Pak flag in Udalguri: Gogoi wants to go for CBI probe

The Assam government will go for a CBI probe into hoisting of a 'Pakistan flag' in clash-hit Udalguri district.

Talking to reporters on Saturday in Dispur, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said, “I would go for a CBI inquiry as they have the resources to find out the real culprits, whom we can punish and also educate the people not to be influenced by them.”

He said CID will also investigate so as to immediately know who were responsible for the violence as the CBI would take sometime for the probe.

According to the Chief Minister, "a judicial probe, already on, will unearth the conspiracy behind the clashes and hoisting of the flag.”

Meanwhile, the Assam government spokesman Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has denied any reports of raising of the flag of the neighbouring country in Udalguri.

How can Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma not deny about the hoisting of Pakistani flag or Bangladesh flag by sitting in his office? Thing is he does not want to raise the issue because their (Bangladeshis) the main means of survival of his Power. How can he see the suffering of his own people in his own land? How long will he rule Assam by assuring them false promises? We the people of Assam are not fooled. Its high time for the people of Assam to throw them out from the office.

It is high time Assamese decide their destiny before it is too late. How could a minister sitting in his air condition accommodation deny the presence whereas national media was showing it throughout the day. The rest of country is developing rapidly but Assam is still lagging far behind. Time to denounce the people who play cheap politics and violence and get on with development - better late than never.
