AAP to contest in M'laya, Nagaland assembly polls

NEW DELHI: The Aam Admi Party is gearing up to contest in the upcoming assembly polls in three north eastern states in March this year.

Talking to Assam Times, senior AAP leaders in New Delhi say the central leaders have been receiving good feedback from the state leaders and workers alike from the poll bound states of Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura.

"We are given to understand that our party has good prospect in Meghalaya where BJP is trying to wrest power from Congress. We are in constant touch with the state leadership these days," said a senior AAP leader who refused to be named.

He said," we are contemplating to contest in all seats in Meghalaya and Nagaland apart from in at least ten to twenty seats in Tripura."

The central leadership are expected to hunker down in the capital city very soon to clear the poll strategies in the three north eastern states where assembly polls are due in March.

The ruling party in Delhi will take on both Congress and BJP to keep both the parties at bay even in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Chattisgarh.
