MARGHERITA: Despite combing operations and tight vigil Naga rebels have been moving without any hindrance along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border unleashing terror by extortion.
Security forces on Friday held a dreaded Naga rebel from Khonsa area who was believed to have been extorting money from the common people in the area.
Identified as SS Kammo Konglom, he was arrested from Kheti village in Khonsa who hails from Tirap area in Arunachal Pradesh. Acting on a tip off, the Assam Rifles jawans conducted a raid in the hilly hamlet where he was picked up.
Security forces further claimed to have seized from his possession a pistol, some amount of opium along with some other incriminating materials.
