NEW DELHI: Two AGP and BJP delegations have arrived in New Delhi on Thursday with contradictory views on the Hindu Bangladeshi issue.
After holding a citizens' convention in Guwahati, the AGP leaders have arrived in the capital to apprise Union home minister Rajnath Singh of the regional party's concern over the move to grant citizenship to the Hindu Bangladeshi immigrants.
AGP leaders have made it plain and simple that never would they allow the Hindu infiltrators to be granted citizenship which will be a huge disregard to the Assam Accord.
"We are dead opposed to it. Never will we allow it to happen. We won't compromise and will stick to our earlier stand," said an AGP leader in New Delhi.
The ruling BJP has also dispatched a delegation which has arrived the New Delhi on Thursday. Party leaders told Assam Talks that they would call on Union home minister in support of citizenship for the Hindu immigrants. They are mounting pressure on the Centre to clear the Citizenship Amendment Bill,1955 before the publication of the final NRC.
A BJP leader said that AGP's position would be a problem for BJP to proceed.
