Dr. Indira Goswami alias Mamoni Raisom Goswami needs no introduction in India and across the globe today. Versatile writer, research scholar, philanthropist and 2nd Gyanpith awardee from North East Region Dr. Mamoni Raisam Goswami is all set to unveil her latest research work "Ravana –myths legends and lore" 1st publication of Southeast Asia Ramayana Research Institute (SARRI), Guwahati published by B. R Publishing Corporation New Delhi on November 4,2008. The book is based on contributions of various research workers across the globe jointly edited by Dr. Goswami with Manjit Baruah.

Dr. Goswami heads the Southeast Asia Ramayana Research Institute (SARRI), Guwahati under this banner she is working on the ground reality and myths of Ramayana. She is interested in all the character of Ramayana but the most lucrative and interesting character is Ravana whom most of the people hate. Talking to Assam Times correspondent in her Guwahati residence she said that Ravana lived a life of dignity and honour and blessed was his birth. Over ten years of the study this book would reflect a portion of ground reality of a character of Ramayana. She insisted that time has come to study and research mythology to believe in its existence. Due to her simple health reasons she could not elaborately speak however the overview message is to study the existences of myths.
