'BTC administration is preparing to rehabilitatein Bodoland those evicted settlers in Amchang  if Chief Minister gives his consent.

Talking to reporters, BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary said the eviction in the Amchang wild life sanctuary was conducted under strict guide lines of law. It was duty of the government to evict illegally settlers along the Amchang forest.

'BTC administration will provide shelteing facility to the Amchang evicted persons if CM offers allowed us to rehabilitate', Mohilary said.

Illegal arms seized in Kokrajhar district

As many as 44 illegal arms were seized in the district during the intensified check and search ahead assembly election, besides recovery of 13 grenades and seized 6731 litres of liquors. Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner and District election officer exclusively told that there have been 648 license arms deposited, out of issued 743 license arms in the district under the guidelines reached from election commission of India. 144 CrPC promulgated

The Kokrajhar and Chirang district magistrates promulgated today an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting movement of any persons, materials, vehicular traffic of any description from either side of the boder across the Indo- Bhutan falling under Kokrajhar and Chirang district from 6PM of April 10 to 6AM of April 12. This order has been imposed after considering likelihood of subversive activities to be carried by the anti social elements in the district on the day of poll, i.e on April 11, 2016. 3 NDFB-S cadres arrested

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), who has been investigating into massacre of Adivasi peoples at Santipur-Saralpara along Indo-Bhutan border, arrested three hard core cadres of the NDFB-S on Thursday from Saralpara are in Kokrajhar district.  They were identified as Armish Basumatary of East Jordanpur, Lothen Basumatary of Giribil village of Kokrajhar district and Gangaraj Basumatary of Birhangaon of Chirang district.  With these arrests of three cadres, the arrests stands at 61 and 45 of them have been charged sheeted till date . The arrested cadres have been sent for police custody for three days for investigation, said a senior official.  

NDFB-S rebel

One NDFB-Songbijit cadre was arrested at a joint operation launched by army and police at Takampur area under Kachugaon PS on Thursday in Kokrajhar district. The rebel was identified as Raju Mushahary alias Rajesh Mushahary, 20, of Takampur village of Gossage on subdivision. He was involved with extortion, kidnapping, recruiting of new cadres and supporting logistic to the militants outfit organization. A pistol, two ammunition and a hand grenade was recovered from him.
