NEW DELHI:Hundreds of people from three organizations from BTAD areas have staged dharna in Delhi on Tuesday reviving the Bodoland demand. With banners, festoons and play cards, the ABSU, NDFB-P and PJCMB leaders and workers thronged the Ramlila Ground in the capital where they staged the dharna for nearly two hours raising the seperate statehood demand.
ABSU president Pramod Boro said,"before the last general polls BJP assured us of separate statehood. After the polls the BJP-led government at the Centre has done precious little to show their sincerity. But we won't sit idle. We will intensify the stir."
"This is our only demand which is not new. But the government has not taken up it with due seriousness. Divide Assam 50:50 and help the Bodor lead a progressive life. There is no option," said Rhinoy Narzary who is one of the protesters.
On Wednesday, they would take out s procession to the Sansad Marg outlining their demands.
