Tributes paid to Pankaj Sharma
Floral tributes were paid by the members of Guwahati Press Club to Pankaj Sharma, an upcoming photo journalist of 'Dainik Batori Kakot', an Assamese Daily from Guwahati, who died of Jaundice in a city hospital on 26 th September 2008.
He was 31 years old. Cremation was done today at the Navagraha cremation ground in the city.
All Assam Photo Journalists Association and other media organisations have expressed their deep shock over untimemely demise of Sharma and prayed for peace in his heavenly abode.

Journalists’ Forum Assam (JFA) expresses serious concern at the mysterious death of journalist turned advocate Deva Kumar Das following the simple injury by a stray leopard in Guwahati on January 7. Deva Das with two others were wounded by the leopard in broad day light, as it got panicked while trapped in a residential area adjacent to Navagraha hills at Silphukhuri locality on Saturday. The GNRC Hospitals in association with Guwahati Press Club has announced the GNRC Media Fellowship, where the working journalists will be selected for financial support to study the healthcare situation in Assam and northeast India.
