Boat race pulls huge crowd in Kokrajhar

A Boat race competition pulled huge crowd in Kokrajhar along the Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary on Sunday.

Huge peoples thronged at the Dheer Bill to see the Boating race competition from different areas of lower Assam districts. Six teams are participating the competition from différent districts like host Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Bongaigaon, Goalpara in the 4th edition of Boat race competition,which has been organised by Alurbhui Munmun Club at Dheer Bill in Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary,famous for golden langur.

Doneswar Goyary, BTC executive member graced as chief guest on the occasion.Niranjan Baruah,Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner,Rajen Singh,SP were also attended the function.

Participants with uniform are participating and flied with beautiful showcase of competition on the bill that created enthusisatic sporting environment. The competition has been examined strictly by judgement on their showcase of boat,sail,speedy and discipline. Sailors are singing song on the boat along with making strong competition spirit while they are on their sailoring on the Bill.The competitators must cross nearly two-kilometres at a stretch showing their excellent sail.

Huge thronging are seeing along the Dheer Bill to take musement sporting event at the Dheer Bill. Spectators expressed their happiness over the sporting event in the region that has been giving opportunity to see natural beauty and bill excitement for common masses.

Goyary said that the Boat race competition is an initiative taken by local peoples for creating sporting arena among the citizens in the region. Peoples from cutting across caste and community are participating to enjoy the water game event on the Dheer Bill in Kokrajhar district.He said that Dheerbill is a famous tourist spot in BTAD which locate south of Kokrajhar town near Deeplai Bill.Different kinds of fishes are found along the Dheer Bill

‘Participants from lower Assam disricts,included Goalpara,Bongaigaon,Dhubri and Kokrajhar are participating with great enthusiastic moment.Winner teams are awarded gifts and prizes who can showase their execellent sail of Boat’, Goyary said.

The organisers told that this competition has been organising every year on the Deer Bill that has been creating sporting enthusiastic moment.Peoples gathered largely here to witness great sporting event on the Dheer Bill which seemed like festivity mood.

‘This time, more boat teams are participating in the competition,apart from Bongaigaon, Dhubri ditsricts. The boat race competition is a programme that sending a communal harmony among all sections of the communities in the region’, a member of the Munmun Club said.

‘I am very much gladful having seen beautiful boat race competition at the tourist spot Dheer Bill in Kokrajhar where competitators participated with great enthusiastic environment. This event need to be explored in the state as Dheer Bill has been seemed potential of the Boat race event in explorable status’,a visitor from Goalpara said.

Kokrajhar, May 2:  A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district. KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
