APSC scam: APS officer surrenders in Guwahati

An Assam Police Service officer who was wanted in connection with the APSC scam has surrendered before the investigation officers in Guwahati hours after 15 others were arrested. 

Identified as Dilip Kalita, the assistant commandant with 5th Assam Police Battalion in Haflong surrendered before police In Guwahati on Wednesday evening who was later arrested. 

With this, the special investigation team set up to probe the huge scam has arrested 16 officers while efforts are on to nab nine others who have gone underground. 

When produced, fourteen of these ACS and APS officers were sent to police remand where the investigators have been interrogating them at the Kahilipara based APBn headquarters. 

Police officers probing the scam are producing two officers Raju Saha and Amarjit Das before the special court on Thursday seeking the duo in their remand for interrogation.
