AGP: Another hurdle on the road to unification

The Asom Gana Parishad is set to hit a major hurdle while it is preparing for unification of the regional forces. The AGP(P) has said the AGP is not clear of a dignified rehabilitation of former Chief Minister and founder president Prafulla Kumar Mahanat. According to the party leaders, they are not ready to proceed without proper and convincing clarification for the main Opposition party. The AGP has yet to react.

On the other hand, the new president Chandra Mohan Patowary said he is confident of good performance in the next Assembly polls.

It may noted that the party elected Patowary as the new head at the end of a high voltage political drama while Brindabon Goswami walked of the crucial meeting on Sunday. Working president Phani Bhushan Chaudhory, who resigned was placed as the leader of the Opposition.
