One injured in firing incident

In yet another incident of firing within a span of 24 hours, unidentified persons opened fire on a 34-year-old man at Barhampur area of Nagaon on Monday night. One Naba Sinha of Amoni was injured in the incident. As per reports, Naba was on his way towards home on his motorcycle when two motorcycle borne unidentified persons  fired a bullet at Barhampur. The bullet hit Naba's left leg.On receiving information, a police team from Nagaon Sadar rushed to the spot and launched investigation. The police recovered a 9MM pistol bullet from the spot. Naba was admitted to BP Civil hospital of Nagaon and later Sent to GMCH for better treatment. The incident created panic in the region for some time. Police have launched a probe to identify the miscreants and ascertain the cause of the attack.


Prior to this, On Sunday evening,a first semester student of Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College named Saurav hazarika,had received some serious injuries after four unidentified miscreants fired gunshot at Barkola in the Nagaon district.


The Nagaon police have not been to able identity the miscreants involved in both the cases.
